Yen Chen is a coauthor of CAR’s “Beyond the Big Leave” study, and an Automotive Business Statistical Analyst in the Labor & Industry Group at CAR. His work focuses on national and regional macroeconomic analysis, forecasting national and industry trends, and formulating international business strategies. His recent work includes a forecast of automotive industry employment, analysis of NAFTA motor vehicle content value, strategic analysis of automotive safety centers, and market analysis on the future of North America automotive electronics. He also conducts economic risk analysis for regional economies, and participates in international marketing activities for Michigan’s automotive industry.

Prior to working at CAR, Mr. Chen worked as a public policy analyst for the Legislative Yuan, the legislative body of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Mr. Chen has a master’s in Economics and an M.B.A., both from Eastern Michigan University. He has a bachelor’s degree in Cooperative Economics from National Taipei University in Taipei, Taiwan. He is a member of National Association for Business Economics.
