Auren Kaplan is a Research Assistant with the Center for Automotive Research, with an emphasis on economic development strategies.  He is currently working on defining economic development best practices for CAR’s Automotive Communities Program, and was recently involved in developing a research proposal for a study on transit investment. 

Mr. Kaplan is a senior at the University of Michigan with majors in Political Science and Spanish, and he is completing an Honors thesis in Political Science.  He is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Journal of Political Science, a student-run academic journal, and is former co-Chair of the Voice Your Vote Commission, a non-partisan voter registration organization. 

Mr. Kaplan is on a full tuition and housing scholarship, the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship, and he plans to work as an entrepreneur after graduation.
